|
|
Some of you may know me from 1919a4.com, I've been hanging there for a couple years. I've also sold tooling and a 60 degree set of rivets for the 1917/1919 for some time.
Many people have contacted me for M2/M3 rivets. I've finally managed to find enough information to write a spec. for a set. These will not be Mil-spec. as many of those are modified round head rivets that are difficult to buck with home shop equipment. The Top plate, Bottom plate, Bolt hold back and lower Trunion rivets will have a small, 60 degree head that can be bucked as with a 1919. Long Trunion rivets will have round heads. All rivets may require some trimming as I have added length to compensate for de-mil. damage. I'm just trying to provide a better alternative than the 90 degree commercial rivets most people are forced to use.
Availability: NOW
Price: $27.50

60 Degree M2/M3 Rivets:
Many people have asked me for M2/M3 rivets, so here they are.
1) 60 degree 3/16 x 11/16 (60)
2) Round head 5/32 x ½ (12)
3) 60 degree 3/16 x 1 3/16 (6)
4) Round head 3/16 x 2 ¾ (5)
These, like my 1919 rivets, are not Mil-spec. (those are a countersunk roundhead rivet), they are made for the home builder. The rear Top plate and Bottom plate, bottom front and bolt hold back rivets have a small 60-degree head so they can be bucked for peening like those in a 1919. The small 60-degree head means less of your Side plates wind up on the shop floor. The long Trunion rivets and 5/32” rivets have conventional pan heads. All rivets are a little long. Rivets can be shortened much easier than they can be lengthened (they can’t), so there is extra length to fill holes enlarged or otherwise boogered during the demil process. Extra rivets of all sizes are provided.
Price: $27.50 (I can’t in good conscience charge you more)
I also now have 1917/1919 BHPB and Cam rivets.

| Any feedback on these M2 rivets? Seem to be exactly what I've been looking for but doesn't sound like very many M2 builds have been happening lately. |

Thanks, have used the MSG 1919 rivets, no problems.
Was looking to get my box riveted but thinking now I can do it myself with a little help from a friend |

I have used them on my 1919a4 builds and also on a couple M2 builds. On the M2 I used a round head rivet for the lower trunion. all other rivets worked great and he MSG has very fast shipping.

I haven't been able to buy a M2HB as of yet, but MSG has provided rivets for three of my semi-auto 1919a4's with no build problems yet. The McMaster-Carr rivets work fine in AK builds, but they are not to my liking on 1919a4's or the M2HB if I ever get one; I believe they may be a bit too soft for the pounding they will take IMHO!
